Obituary
John “Ted” Edward Eveland
It is with heavy hearts, we share that Ted Eveland passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 28, 2026, in his 85th year of life.
Ted was a devoted husband to his treasured wife, Yvonne Eveland, and a loving father to Sarah (Kevin) Eadie, Jordan Eveland, and Danielle Fentie. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Sola Menicucci, Mitchell (Meranda), Blake (Maddie) and Brooke (Derek) Humby, Quintin (Sydnie) and Gavin Fentie, and great-grandchildren Jack and Bennett Humby and Elodie Fentie. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Lola Fentie.
Ted also leaves behind his son, Doug (Sheila) Stickland, and his beloved granddaughters, Sarah (Brett) Sullivan and Jillian Stickland (Sean Killin), who will remember him with love and hold close the memories they shared.
Ted was predeceased by his dear parents, Doris and Ted Eveland, and his much-loved brothers, Timothy Eveland and Kevin Eveland. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Nancy Eveland and Rose Eveland.
Ted’s family was his greatest joy. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren deeply and was immensely proud of them. His family will forever cherish the love, memories, laughter, and moments they shared with Ted.
He also shared a very special bond with his cousin Patrick (Maxine) Eveland, who was much more than a cousin; he was a brother to Ted, and their lifelong friendship was a treasured part of his life.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and cherished nieces who held a special place in his heart, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Ted had a lifelong passion for sports. He was especially proud of his days playing football at Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School, where he served as captain alongside his brother and co-captain, Tim. His love of sports continued throughout his life, including his loyal support of the Detroit Lions, Toronto Blue Jays, as well as his love of golf.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of Ted's friends and neighbours who supported, cared for, and loved him throughout the years, and who made sure he was still able to get out and enjoy time on the golf course. Your kindness, friendship, and care meant more to Ted and his family than you will ever know.
Cremation has taken place. An interment of Ted’s ashes will take place at Resurrection Cemetery and Crematorium with a private committal service for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s memory may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society.
Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Ted’s Guestbook” at mccormackaquamationburialandcremationservices.ca.

Condolences. I worked briefly under Ted’s direction at Dow Chemical. We always talked afterwards when we would see each other out in the community. Ted will be missed.
